[ It's been over a week since Firo arrived in Luceti. Most of that time was spent in a frantic search for some way out; he refuses to believe he's truly trapped. Even if people were right when they said time froze back home, the fear that they were wrong and simple homesickness were driving him crazy.

But days of frantic searching and exploration have taken their toll. His voice when it comes over the journal is tired and tainted by annoyance. ]

So, what exactly can anybody tell me about this 'barrier' out there? Has anybody tried breakin' through somehow?

[ There's a pause and the sound of his fingers drumming on a tabletop ]

Oh- and since I just got here I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Firo Prochainezo. Nothin' personal, but I'm not exactly pleased to be meetin' any of you.

[ After fumbling about for a few moments he manages to turn the thing off. ]

[ After his journal post, Firo will be wandering through the village, trying to get acquainted with his surroundings. Most of his time in Luceti has been spent out in the woods, so most things in the village seem new. He roams around, staring at everything through a baffled haze. While he's exploring the whole bazaar area, his attention will be repeatedly snagged by the weapons shop and a strangely familiar knife.

All the running around for the past few days has him looking a little worse for the wear; his clothes and hair are a bit untidy, though he looks a lot better than he had for the past few days. He's not yet comfortable with the wings and has tried to keep them hidden from view under his shirt. ]

I think just about everyone has tried attacking that barrier at one point or other. I've personally thrown every spell I know at it, and...nothing. Not even a scratch.

[ He's too focused on the barrier to fully register the fact that she said 'spells.' He can't hide his disappointment. ]

Not at all? What about somethin' like explosives?

I've tried something similar to that, already. It has no effect. Even more fun, whatever you send at it has a chance of rebounding.

[ He's been running around in the forest too much to have learned anything about the village. ]

It's a place where we try to help the newcomers settle in, as much as we can. There's food, beds, maps and other supplies, as well. We're just across the street from the clinic, and next to the bakery.

You've got maps there? Do you think I could have one?

[ Firo's too busy staring at what may or may not be his knife to notice Yeager's approach. He jumps and inwardly curses himself for not paying enough attention. ]

I'm just... Somethin' looked kinda familiar.

[ He shouldn't get too excited. Knives are a dime a dozen, it's not surprising there's one that resembles his so strongly, is it? ]

It could be yours. This is where the Malnosso put whatever weapons you had on you when you were transported to Luceti.

[ His hand darts out to pick it up and he looks at it carefully. The hilt fits perfectly into his hand, just as he remembers it. ]

How come they take 'em away if they're just gonna give 'em back later?

I'm not entirely sure. Perhaps they take inventory of them, or perhaps they just don't want you to have them when you're most scared and confused. But ja, you're free to take that now.

[ And take it he will. There's no way he's going to let a fragment of home slip away.

He raises an eyebrow. It seems like when you're most scared is the best time to have a weapon. ]
