[ When he speaks to the journal, Firo's voice is hurried and aggravated. This mess is all his fault, and even he's not dense enough to avoid realizing that. ]

Hey, has anybody seen a kid around here? He's about 12 or 13; messy brown hair, kinda short. He wears this blue.... dres-, uh, coat thing. If you see him, tell him to stay right where he is and I'll come find him.

[ There's another grumble of frustration, and he lowers his voice. ]

And if anybody touches him I'll make you pay, ya hear me?

[ Given his worried state (and Firo's general lack of intimidation skill) it doesn't sound as threatening as he would have wanted it to. ]

[Action]

[ Firo has to admit that losing Seto once again pretty much takes the cake in failures he's had. This has to be the fourth or fifth time the kid has managed to slip out on Firo. Kind of sad for someone whose job used to rely on being observational.

He leaves Community Building 3 and runs toward the village, angrily berating himself under his breath. It's gotten into his head that something terrible could happen to Seto, and it'll be all his fault. Whether or not Seto gets hurt, Firo's not doing his job as brother too well. 

Perhaps he's run straight into you, as Firo tends to do. Or maybe you just want to know what's up with the weirdo running through town. ]

Ah, y'know kids. [Mac almost says it as if he is a father.] They ain't kids if they don' do somethin' dumb every once in a while. [He is guilty of this too, of course.] But yeah, try t'take it easy.

...Okay, that's definitely true.

[ He laughs before his tone turns serious. ]

It's just... he can't really see ever since he got back from the Draft.

[The boxer's expression sobers in an instant.] Whaddya mean...? Was he hurt?

[ He nods slowly. ]

Yeah. Well, he was killed.

[thelittlemacthatcould]

Aw geez. ...M'real sorry, Firo.

[immamartillo]

Don't be. I'm not the one who got stabbed.

[ But it's pretty obvious that he wishes he was. ]

[thelittlemacthatcould]

[He purses his lips, swallowing subtly.] It ain't ever easy, losin' somebody. [Especially when they won't ever return, as it the case in many worlds beyond Luceti.] But... 'least he's back now. It's gonna be awright.

Yeah. You're right. We're lucky it happened here not... somewhere else.

[ A sigh. ]

He just shouldn't have been there in the first place. He wouldn't hurt a fly.

Those Malnosso jerks think they can do whatever they want. [And sadly, this seems like the way it will be for some time.</small.]

[ He nods, sighing angrily. ]

Nobody's ever showed 'em otherwise.

I bet they tried. Somebody had to... I mean, w'got people here who been stuck here f'years. I think someone will always keep tryin'. Wish I could help, but I ain't got a clue what t'do.

Me too. Do we even know where they are?

Y'mean, where the Malnosso are hangin' out?

Yeah. Has anybody ever seen one of 'em in person?

Good question 'cause I ain't sure. Guess it don' hurt t'ask sometime.

I'll see what I can find. You wanna teach 'em a lesson too?

Ain't gonna lie... sometimes I really feel like punchin' one a' them right in the face.

Yeah, just to get started. They've got a whole lot more than that comin' to 'em.

I bet, with how pissed everybody else must be feelin'. [He doesn't quite grin at the thought of the Malnosso being met with violence for the troubles they have caused others.]

[immamartillo]

Definitely.

[ He sighs, slowly coming back to reality. ]

But first we gotta actually hunt 'em down. I have no idea where to start with that.

Yeah... an' then we'd have the Third Party t'worry 'bout, after. [He pauses to rub wearily at his eyes.] It's real complicated.

[immamartillo]

True. Didn't think a' that.

[ He shrugs. ]

...But first thing's first, I gotta hunt this kid down before I go pokin' my nose into anything else.

Right... Well, I ain't doin' no good standin' 'round. I'll keep an eye open, like I said. Take it easy, Firo.

[immamartillo]

Thanks. You too, don't work yourself too hard, okay?
