[After having a close friend return home a few weeks ago, Firo's been largely keeping to himself. He was aware of the danger of losing friends in Luceti, but it always seemed abstract and alien until it actually happened.

It's boredom that finally prompts him to address the network. That and the concern that if he doesn't keep using his skills he'll be near useless when he gets back home. Why not kill two birds with one stone?]

Does anybody here wanna play cards? Any kinda game is fine, or even if you just wanna learn. Most of 'em aren't that hard to pick up and I don't mind teachin' anyone.

[His tone suddenly becomes less light and takes a turn for the grouchier.]

But if you're gonna cheat, save it. I'll know.

[He wasn't put in charge of a Family casino for nothing.]

[Soon after he makes his message, Firo will be rummaging through the item shop for a few packs of cards, carefully going through each one he finds to make sure they're complete. Then he'll linger a little while by the art supplies to pick up some markers.

...No, he is not going to be using them to mark the cards.]

[He grins as he withdraws a pack of cards from his jacket pocket. There's a spring in his step that hasn't been there in a while; the distance between him and home had dampened it, but this promise of familiarity has it somewhat revived.]

I didn't wanna keep you waitin'. You ready?

I'm ready whenever you are. You wanna take this inside? [Because it'll probably get chilly while they're playing, and those couches are pretty darn comfortable. He's glad to see that spring in Firo's step, at least; the younger capo had seemed a little more subdued than he remembered when he first saw him here, not that he could blame him.]

Sure, that sounds good. Is anybody else home? Maybe they'll want in on it.

[It's never too early to start gambling!]

Well, Luke and Czes might both be around but I'm not sure if they're really into this kinda stuff.

Luke's more of a puzzle guy, I've learned.

Yeah, Luke's... really into the puzzles.

[Firo discovered this after he made some less than favorable remarks about puzzles in front of Luke.]

Eh, too bad. They're the ones losin' out.

Come on now, everyone's got something different to enjoy. Remember the exasperated looks you gave us for the dominos? [Even though you got really into it in the end?]

[He blushes and nearly flinches, though it was silly of him to think Maiza would let him slide on that.

Come on, that was... that was different.

All right, all right. You've got a point; dominos were probably sillier than puzzles.

[Oh crap, he didn't want to offend Maiza...]

I-Wait, I didn't mean the dominoes were that silly! It's just-!

[Gangsters can't do stuff like that in public.]

Big ol' camorristi crawling on our hands and knees lining up dominos in the middle of the speako don't sound that intimidating, does it? [GRIN GRIN GRIN.]

[Maiza, why do you do this? :(]

W-well... I mean-!

[His face is already turning red as he glances away. Damn it, what does he say? Maiza's completely right, but Firo knows it'd be just plain disrespectful to repeat the reaction he had to the dominoes now that he knows Maiza's involved. It's okay to call Isaac and Miria weird, not a senior capo.]

[He laughs ant reaches over to pat Firo's shoulder.]

I'll stop teasin' you. Don't worry about it, Firo.

[He sighs and slouches to hide his pouting.]

Thanks...

[He peeks up at Maiza hesitantly.]

...Can we play now?

[small>Please no more teasing.]

[Okay okay. He grins and nods.] Come on in. I'll get you some water.

[Despite still being slightly pink from embarrassment, Firo smiles back as he moves to follow Maiza inside.]

No problem. It's been a while since we got to play.

It has. I don't think I've even played a game with anyone since before I got here.

You haven't? Then we've definitely gotta make sure you're not out of practice.

[He nods eagerly.]

Definitely. I don't wanna wind up useless when we get back home.

[He's mostly joking, but underneath it all he is slightly concerned that his skills may have started to evaporate because of a dearth of opponents.]

Well, even so, I'm sure guys like Randy and Pezo will be glad to teach you again. [You might have to endure some teasing though.]

Yeah, but they'd give me hell about it first. Better to skip that part completely.

[He glances around to try and find a good table for playing.]

[There's a table that Maiza and Czeslaw sometime use for playing chess. It's empty now, and Maiza suggests it for their game.]

'Course they will. That's how they roll.

[Firo plops himself down and starts shuffling, making himself right at home.]

Yeah. They never give anybody a break, huh?

[He laughs.]

True. Bah, it's their way of showing affection.

You especially -- it's never quiet around you since Isaac, Miria, and Czes joined those two.

[Yeah, don't remind him. He sets the deck down and slumps over to rest his chin on the table, pouting predictably.]
