6th Hat Flip [Accidental Video/Action]
[Somewhere in Luceti, Firo's draped over a tree branch, asleep and freshly returned from his mallynapping. He looks a little worse for the wear, but he's out of the woods (figuratively) now, isn't he?
Unfortunately, gravity's not going to give him a break today, and as soon as he shifts in his sleep Firo goes tumbling to the ground. How's that for a wake up call?
It's not far of a fall, but Firo's incredibly ungraceful landing doesn't do him any favors. There's a crunching sound as he hits the ground, twisted around so that he lands on his left hand.]
Ah-! Ow-! Shit!
[Firo stays lying like that for a moment: both in the process of waking up and cursing everything from the malnosso to the tree- whatever he can blame for this situation. Then, with some reluctance, he rolls onto his side and stares at his hand with a mixture of pain and consternation. Unlike what he's become used to over the past few years, it stays stubbornly broken. His eyes widen. This is not how it's supposed to work...]
What? Why isn't it-?
[He tries to flex his fingers and winces; it's then that he catches a glimpse of his journal lying open nearby. Great. Of course it had to show off one of his less dignified moments.]
Damnit... Are you kiddin' me?
[Sighing and gritting his teeth against the pain, he pulls himself into a sitting position. Arms crossed over his chest, he takes a deep breath and tries to recover some aplomb.]
So... Guess I'm back. Screw this place.
[ooc: Firo's back from being mallynapped and is now going to be without his immortality for a while. After a few weeks it'll return to its normal Luceti dampened state.]

[It's a relief to see Firo's alive and kicking - although alive and cursing would be more fitting. That was a rough, painful-looking landing, man; there isn't a trace of amusement on Mac's face as he witnesses it. It isn't quite as insignificant as stumbling over a branch, after all.]
...Geez. Y'okay?
no subject
Yeah, yeah- well, not really. I dunno.
[He runs his uninjured hand through his hair, sighing.]
I really woulda' appreciated a less painful welcome, ya know?
no subject
[Unfortunately, the seeming casualness of his friend's response does not quite set his mind at ease; how much of this was Firo undermining the extent of his injuries?]
...How's y'other hand? If y'need ice or wraps, I can get 'em to ya real quick.
no subject
[He forces a laugh and glances at his hand. Yep, still not fixing itself.]
What the hell's goin' on? ...Actually, if you could get some ice I'd appreciate it.
no subject
Yeah, no prob'm. Where are ya? I mean, can y'see anythin' close t'ya like a buildin' or somethin'? [Carrying his journal to the communal kitchen, he sets it down for a moment to fish out a plastic bag and poke around the freezer for ice.]
no subject
[What did Firo expect, for Mac to magically appear?
Firo takes a deep breath and hauls himself to his feet. He leaves his journal in the grass and trots off, returning a moment later.]
It's community buildin' two.
To action we go? Or what would you like? :3
Two - - gotchya. [He bends the plastic ice holder, the ice cubes crackling loose. Ah, maybe three or four cubes'll do. Oh, and there's a small ice pack - maybe he should take that instead.]
Sit tight - I'll be there as fast as I can. Jus' fillin' up on ice right now. [And he'll probably pocket a few bandaids just in case.]
Action is good for me if it's good for you :D
Thanks. You're a lifesaver, pal.
Oh bb.
[With that, he'll stuff the ice pack into a bag, head back to toss his journal onto his bed a little too carelessly, gather a few medical items last minute, and hurry off. It's a bit of an obstacle course, navigating the woods which are littered with fallen branches, but hell if he'll let them stop him whenever he happens to stumble. Hopefully it's not too long before he catches up with Firo, his legs a little scraped up.]
Hey... [Panting lightly. Phew.] Brought you an ice pack - still cold. Didn't know if y'needed bandaids but I got 'em anyway.
no subject
Thanks. You're a real pal, you know that?
[He tilts his head to one side, noticing the marks of Mac's dash through the woods.]
Looks like you might need 'em for yourself. You alright?
no subject
[He takes a moment to look the guy over, knitting his brows.]
Oh yeah... [His lips press into a line.] Hand's swellin' up a lil' already.
no subject
[What would Firo do without friends willing to charge through a mess of fallen tree bits to give him a hand? He contemplates thanking Mac again, but is distracted by Mac's next observation.]
Damn it, really? This sucks!
[A sigh.]
Wonder if we'll still be able to spar sometime soon...
no subject
Think y'should get somebody at the clinic t'take a look.
[Yeah, he won't be touching that hand even gently - not a good idea. Rustling though his bag, Mac draws out the icepack which he has wrapped up in a thin towel.]
Here. How's the rest a' you?
no subject
[He eagerly takes the ice pack, putting it on his hand perhaps a little too quickly. He grits his teeth, then relaxes as he exhales.]
Thanks. And aside from how-
[Wait, did he mention the whole immortality thing to Mac? Maybe it'd be best to keep quiet about that for now; he trusts Mac, but the guy might think Firo's crazy if he insists he is (or was) immortal and can't prove it.]
...Rest a' me's fine.
no subject
...Y'sure? [He hates to doubt his friend, but he'd kick himself if he'd carelessly overlooked something of grave importance.]
no subject
[Firo looks off to the side.
Geez, Mac can be scary sometimes. Or maybe Firo's just bad at lying to his friends.]
...It's kind of a long story. Anyway, I'll be fine.
no subject
It's all Firo's fault. :IMac relents with some reluctance, biting back, 'well, if you say so'.]Want me t'walk with ya to the clinic? [Perhaps the guy doesn't need it, but he'll put the offer out there regardless.] Ain't no trouble.
no subject
Honestly, when isn't it?Firo shakes his head, smirking slightly.]Geez, it's not like I'm gonna collapse on the way there.
[His smile softens. He missed you, buddy.]
But I wouldn't say no to company if ya don't have any extra-special boxer stuff to attend to.
no subject
Jus' glad y'doin' okay. [A pause. His eyes are as easy to read as ever, achingly sincere.] I mean... not countin' your hand.
no subject
Yeah. Are you alright? It wasn't exactly what I expected, but things did get crazy here for a while.
[Mac doesn't look like he got clobbered by a falling tree branch, but you never know.]
no subject
no subject
[Then again, the Malnosso probably could have something even more destructive.]
I guess we're lucky it wasn't worse.
no subject
no subject
[He shrugs.]
Haven't been to many, actually. Maybe I'll check one out sometime.
[After a beat, he adds:]
But I bet my Family's are better.
no subject
[Asked more out of curiosity than to challenge Firo's claim, however playfully. He'd love to know more of his buddy's way of life and those important to him - because, hell, friends and family are important. And sharing memories is a way to preserve them and to maintain a connection with those one hasn't contact with.]
