6th Hat Flip [Accidental Video/Action]

[Somewhere in Luceti, Firo's draped over a tree branch, asleep and freshly returned from his mallynapping. He looks a little worse for the wear, but he's out of the woods (figuratively) now, isn't he?

Unfortunately, gravity's not going to give him a break today, and as soon as he shifts in his sleep Firo goes tumbling to the ground. How's that for a wake up call?

It's not far of a fall, but Firo's incredibly ungraceful landing doesn't do him any favors. There's a crunching sound as he hits the ground, twisted around so that he lands on his left hand.]

Ah-! Ow-! Shit!

[Firo stays lying like that for a moment: both in the process of waking up and cursing everything from the malnosso to the tree- whatever he can blame for this situation. Then, with some reluctance, he rolls onto his side and stares at his hand with a mixture of pain and consternation. Unlike what he's become used to over the past few years, it stays stubbornly broken. His eyes widen. This is not how it's supposed to work...]

What? Why isn't it-?

[He tries to flex his fingers and winces; it's then that he catches a glimpse of his journal lying open nearby. Great. Of course it had to show off one of his less dignified moments.]

Damnit... Are you kiddin' me?

[Sighing and gritting his teeth against the pain, he pulls himself into a sitting position. Arms crossed over his chest, he takes a deep breath and tries to recover some aplomb.]

So... Guess I'm back. Screw this place.

[ooc: Firo's back from being mallynapped and is now going to be without his immortality for a while. After a few weeks it'll return to its normal Luceti dampened state.]

[PF can hear you even though she's on his bed. Seto pauses then laughs] What she said.

Oh. Hey, PF.

[He chuckles and almost moves his injured hand out of reflex to wave at her. Flinching, he stops himself just in time and waves with the other hand instead. He quickly continues speaking in the hope that they both missed that.]

Has Seto been good?

[He needs to ask somebody other than Seto to be sure. And no, the irony of Firo not fully believing Seto while he's lying to the kid is completely lost on him.]

Yes, he has been fine in your absence.

Don't believe me? [He sounds a little teasing and he's giving Firo a small grin so he's not actually mad or anything]

No, I just...

[He looks a little nervous until he notices Seto's smile. In response, he smiles back and ruffles Seto's hair with his good hand.]

I just wanted to make sure, that's all.

You two been takin' care a' everybody?

[He smiles a little at the hair ruffling then proceeds to smooth his hair back out--even though it's still just as messy. DON'T MAKE THINGS WORSE FOR HIS HAIR.]

Everyone's been worried about you ever since you disappeared but PF and I have been taking care of Kazuma and Tao.

[Nothing can get worse for Seto's hair. To prove it, Firo's going to swoop in for one last ruffle.]

They were? Well, I'm back in one piece now, so...

[Mostly.]

Good job lookin' after 'em. This house needs somebody normal to hold down the fort.

[No offense to Kazuma or Tao.]

[Gah don't do that Firo! He tries to pet down his hair again]

You believe that I am...normal? [She actually sounds surprised despite how her artificial voice sounds.]

I think so.

[He chuckles and, now more at ease, steps farther into the room. It makes the hiding place for his hand a bit less effective.]

More normal than Seto, even. You get into less trouble, too.

[Sensing Firo moving closer, he takes a step back so he isn't in the way or anything.]

H-Hey! I don't get into trouble.

Haha.

Oh, yeah? You sound a bit defensive there. I bet PF would agree with me, right?

[This calls for another hair ruffle!]

Well... I believe he has been behaving well.

See? [He knows he hasn't gotten in trouble lately okok]

C'mon, you coulda' backed me up there...

[He gives something between a laugh and a sigh.]

I was jokin'. You're better behaved than Czes, at least.

[Seto hasn't tricked him into anything, as far as Firo can recall.]

Czes? [He blinks] Isn't that your friend from your world?

Yeah, he lives with me.

Just between the two of us, he's kind of a brat sometimes. Don't tell him I said that.

That's not very nice to say about your friend, Firo. [Jeez rude much]

Huh? Uh, maybe, I guess... But it's the truth.

[If you knew the things Czes did to him...]

Anyway, have you eaten yet today?

[It's part effort to change the subject, part brotherly concern, but really he just wants an excuse to go to the kitchen to get ice.]

[Goodness Firo you're like Crow]

Yeah, I had a snack earlier and breakfast.

You hungry now? I can make you somethin', if you want.

[Yeah, let's see how cooking with only one hand works.]

You don't have to if you don't want to. You should treat what's hurt first...

[Mumbling the last part but it's loud enough for Firo to hear if he's listening close enough. He's worried for his big bro okay]

Of course I want to-

[He almost misses that last part. He pauses and runs his uninjured hand through his hair.]

...I just can't fool you, can I?

[He tries to smile a little and shakes his head]

Nope.

[Firo sighs and doesn't reciprocate the attempt at smiling. It's something of a relief that Seto doesn't seem angry, but the whole thing would be easier if Firo had lied better. Or, he realizes with a pang of guilt, if he hadn't lied at all.]

I'm... I'm really sorry, Seto.

[But, well, now that it's out in the open he's anxious to get some ice. He nudges Seto's shoulder in case he needs Firo to direct him.]

Do you wanna come with me..?

[He knows he can't run off now; if Seto wants to chew him out he should get the chance.]

It's okay. Just... don't lie to me, okay? You can tell me anything. [Not that Seto's that mad, it just doesn't feel good to him when someone so close wants to hide things from him.]

Go with you? Where?

[A blink at the nudge but he redirects himself to go where Firo wants]

[Firo bites his lip as he considers his answer. Should he promise that? Can he? He's tried to keep things even from Maiza before, and Ennis often lets him pass on explanations.

Years ago, it would have been easy to just refuse. The time spent with his Family has softened him up, though, and then Ennis even more so. Now that Firo's been around Seto for a while, it's pretty much impossible. He can't stand to risk hurting his little brother.]

...Alright. I won't.

[He gives a pained smile.]

To get some ice.

[He feels a bit better at that and he's going to trust Firo's word.

He nods] Yeah, I'll go with you then.
