6th Hat Flip [Accidental Video/Action]

[Somewhere in Luceti, Firo's draped over a tree branch, asleep and freshly returned from his mallynapping. He looks a little worse for the wear, but he's out of the woods (figuratively) now, isn't he?

Unfortunately, gravity's not going to give him a break today, and as soon as he shifts in his sleep Firo goes tumbling to the ground. How's that for a wake up call?

It's not far of a fall, but Firo's incredibly ungraceful landing doesn't do him any favors. There's a crunching sound as he hits the ground, twisted around so that he lands on his left hand.]

Ah-! Ow-! Shit!

[Firo stays lying like that for a moment: both in the process of waking up and cursing everything from the malnosso to the tree- whatever he can blame for this situation. Then, with some reluctance, he rolls onto his side and stares at his hand with a mixture of pain and consternation. Unlike what he's become used to over the past few years, it stays stubbornly broken. His eyes widen. This is not how it's supposed to work...]

What? Why isn't it-?

[He tries to flex his fingers and winces; it's then that he catches a glimpse of his journal lying open nearby. Great. Of course it had to show off one of his less dignified moments.]

Damnit... Are you kiddin' me?

[Sighing and gritting his teeth against the pain, he pulls himself into a sitting position. Arms crossed over his chest, he takes a deep breath and tries to recover some aplomb.]

So... Guess I'm back. Screw this place.

[ooc: Firo's back from being mallynapped and is now going to be without his immortality for a while. After a few weeks it'll return to its normal Luceti dampened state.]

[It's what people always tell him; it's easier to pass on the advice to others than for him to actually follow it.

He sighs.]

She is not entirely sure what cocky is BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER, RIGHT. ]

Are your monster friends gonna duel too? How do monsters fight, anyway?

They fight with me. They're strong. They're used to hurting people to protect themselves.

...Sounds like a good skill to have.

[He's never heard such a blunt description of fighting as in that last sentence, but it makes sense.]

I hope it's enough for you guys to teach those bastards a lesson.

I hope so, too. [ She shakes her head. ] I know so! Because if I don't, no one is left to avenge Mommy. So I have to. I have to.

[He nods, though he does have to wonder where she'l go once her mission is completed.]

What are you gonna do after that's all done?

I'll keep following Van. He always knows what to do.

Is he another friend a' yours?

[It doesn't occur to him to caution her about relying too much on someone else's guidance; he's been following his Family without question for nearly a decade, after all.]

... Maybe. I don't think of him as a friend. But he might be.

If he's not your friend, then how come you're gonna follow him?

He and Ion were working together. They both wanted to do the same thing, so Ion told me to go help Van. And Van made my island for me like he said he would. So now I follow him like I should.

Wait, this guy made an island?

Yes. It got destroyed, but he had all the data for it. So he replicated it. Now I have my island back.

That's great and all, but how'd he do somethin' like that? What do you mean by "data"?

[wildlittlegirl]

He replicated it. I don't really understand how it works, but you can make replacements for people and places.

[He can't help but stare wide-eyed. Something like that has to be impossible; in his world cloning hasn't even been discovered or attempted yet. The closest thing is a homomculus like Ennis, and she's hardly a close of Szilard thanks to her "mother's" DNA.]

Replace people? That's crazy!

Is it? I didn't think so. If you can bring someone back, why wouldn't you?

Well...

[There's no use dwelling over the dead, he thinks. But most of his friends are immortal, and the people he's known who died all died a very long time ago. If he considers his mortal friends in Luceti, he can't truthfully say that he'd let them stay dead.]

But how's somethin' like that even possible?

I'm not sure. It needs a lot of Seventh Fonons, data, and a machine, but that's all I know about it.

[He shakes his head, unsure of whether or not to believe her.]

Seventh fonons..?

They're... [ oh no she doesn't even really understand these things herself ]

Well, everything is made up of fonons, and there are seven types of them. They let people and monsters use magic. Not a lot of people can use Seventh Fonons, but if you can you can do a lot of things with them.

Sounds like some pretty amazin' things...

[He wants to ask why they can't use that to revive her mother, but decides against it. The reason's probably too complicated for him or too painful for her.]

So how come your island got destroyed in the first place? That Anise kid and her crew?

[ Oh, she asked. She practically begged. But in the end, they didn't have the data to do it.

Arietta shakes her head. ]

No. It was a while ago. People were fighting a war, and they made a really big wave. It sunk the whole island. That was when Mommy found me and rescued me.

Like a tsunami?

[It certainly sounds like this kid has had a stressful life.]

Is stuff like that normal where you come from?
