[After having a close friend return home a few weeks ago, Firo's been largely keeping to himself. He was aware of the danger of losing friends in Luceti, but it always seemed abstract and alien until it actually happened.

It's boredom that finally prompts him to address the network. That and the concern that if he doesn't keep using his skills he'll be near useless when he gets back home. Why not kill two birds with one stone?]

Does anybody here wanna play cards? Any kinda game is fine, or even if you just wanna learn. Most of 'em aren't that hard to pick up and I don't mind teachin' anyone.

[His tone suddenly becomes less light and takes a turn for the grouchier.]

But if you're gonna cheat, save it. I'll know.

[He wasn't put in charge of a Family casino for nothing.]

[Action]

[Soon after he makes his message, Firo will be rummaging through the item shop for a few packs of cards, carefully going through each one he finds to make sure they're complete. Then he'll linger a little while by the art supplies to pick up some markers.

...No, he is not going to be using them to mark the cards.]

[Granted, you are taller than us, maybe even older, but you don't seem like that old of an "adult" to us...]

[Taken aback, he straightens indignantly and raises his voice.]

[Wow because that doesn't make you sound like a kid Firo...then again we don't have any right to talk.]

I am not! I'm way older than you!

[Just being older doesn't mean more mature, which Firo is proving right now.]

Oh yeah? Just how old are you anyway?

[He sits up as straight as he can. Considering he's not that tall, it doesn't do much to make him look older.]

I'm 22.

...Really? Is that all?

[Admittedly you've been around for a while enough, but color us unimpressed.]

What do you mean "is that all"? I'm an adult.

How old are you, anyway?

I'm--[And then he suddenly stops. He...can't really remember how old he might be, actually. There's always been a gap in his memories and for all he knows he could be just a few years or hell, over twenty years old like Firo or even older than that.

But Firo's expecting an answer so he just folds his arms and huffs.] It's none of your business to know.

What? You asked about my age, you can't just not tell me yours!

[He shakes his head, assuming that Crow's just being difficult and he won't get a real answer.]

Whatever. You can keep enjoyin' your kid games. Just don't fall off a roof or anything.

[tomodachi]

[Hmph. Crow shifts away a little now, the solitaire game nearly forgotten about now in his mildly growing frustration again from being unable--and now definitely unwilling, to talk about it.]

Yeah well, maybe I will, since they're definitely way more fun than most boring things adults do--and I'm not just gonna go fall off a roof, that's something only a moron would do. [Except you are kind of dumb Crow...]

Adults do plenty a' things that aren't boring! And anyway, not everything's gotta be fun.

[Hmph! He slouches back in his chair, arms folded. And they had been getting along so well before...]

[To think we were almost getting along for a minute there...]

You're kidding, right? Everyone knows that if it's not fun, then it's usually not worth doing...

That's stupid. What about stuff you gotta do for your job?

Yeah. Like how you earn your livin' and what you do most a' the time.

[But Firo what we do most of the time is cause trouble for others...]

Well I always have fun most of the time, I don't know what you're talking about saying that you should have to do things that aren't fun at all.

[It occurs to Firo that survivors in post-apocalyptic worlds probably don't need to pay for much.]

...Our worlds are different. Where I live, you gotta work so you can get food, a place to live, all that.

...That sounds like it'd be dull and annoying, having to do a lot of boring work for that.

[welcome to the real world crow, you gotta earn your keep more than just living off the land...]

[He twitches, wondering if he should be offended at the implication that his duties for his Family would be annoying. Then he recalls that Crow doesn't even know what he does, and probably isn't talking about his job specifically.]

It's not all boring, dependin' on what you do. I like my job. Most people aren't as lucky.

Oh yeah? [He still sounds a little disbelieving of that, but at least he seems interested.]

So what kinda "job" did you have?

[Firo smiles proudly, despite Crow's reaction.]

I'm a capo for the Martillo Family; I manage one of our casinos back home.

...Huh?

[Yeah sorry we don't know what a "capo" or a "casino" and such is.]

We're a Camorra family. A capo is like a captain, basically.
