6th Hat Flip [Accidental Video/Action]

[Somewhere in Luceti, Firo's draped over a tree branch, asleep and freshly returned from his mallynapping. He looks a little worse for the wear, but he's out of the woods (figuratively) now, isn't he?

Unfortunately, gravity's not going to give him a break today, and as soon as he shifts in his sleep Firo goes tumbling to the ground. How's that for a wake up call?

It's not far of a fall, but Firo's incredibly ungraceful landing doesn't do him any favors. There's a crunching sound as he hits the ground, twisted around so that he lands on his left hand.]

Ah-! Ow-! Shit!

[Firo stays lying like that for a moment: both in the process of waking up and cursing everything from the malnosso to the tree- whatever he can blame for this situation. Then, with some reluctance, he rolls onto his side and stares at his hand with a mixture of pain and consternation. Unlike what he's become used to over the past few years, it stays stubbornly broken. His eyes widen. This is not how it's supposed to work...]

What? Why isn't it-?

[He tries to flex his fingers and winces; it's then that he catches a glimpse of his journal lying open nearby. Great. Of course it had to show off one of his less dignified moments.]

Damnit... Are you kiddin' me?

[Sighing and gritting his teeth against the pain, he pulls himself into a sitting position. Arms crossed over his chest, he takes a deep breath and tries to recover some aplomb.]

So... Guess I'm back. Screw this place.

[ooc: Firo's back from being mallynapped and is now going to be without his immortality for a while. After a few weeks it'll return to its normal Luceti dampened state.]

And I'm at home... [Where else would he be? He's blind lol. Not like Kazuma would let him wonder off]

I-

[He flinches and falls silent for a moment. Why can't he be a better liar? Seto doesn't need to know or worry about things like this.]

Really, Seto, it's fine.

[Good. Maybe Kazuma's doing a better job of looking after Seto than Firo does...]

I'll be right there. Just sit tight.

[...Well, maybe not right there. It's going to take him a minute to start moving around.]

B-But... [Bro, stop lying to him, please ;n; He'll just wait until you get home then worry abut you more!!!!

He nods reluctantly] Okay.

[He feels like a big jerk for doing this, but he's convinced himself that it'd be worse to tell Seto that he's hurt.]

See you in a bit.

[After giving Seto a little wave and a forced smile, he closes the journal. He's not moving as quickly as he'd like, so it takes him over a half hour to get home. When he finally reaches it, he slips inside and immediately begins looking for Seto.]

Seto?

Okay... [He should probably get Kazuma to see what's wrong with him since he can't. He will find out one way or another big bro!!

When Firo gets back and calls out his name, he peaks out of his bedroom door way in the direction that his voice came from] I'm in my room.

Okay.

[He hangs back, debating whether he should go see Seto immediately or ice his hand first. It's been a while since he's had to deal with an injury for longer than a few minutes, so this one's troubling him more than he'd like to admit. Still, ice or bandages of any sort would tell Seto all too clearly that Firo's been hurt. He can't have that. And it's been too long since he's seen his little bro.

He gingerly makes his way over to Seto, smiling. It's not entirely faked this time.]

Hey.

[He waits in his doorway, noticing the obvious hesitance from Firo before he hears his footsteps coming over to him. That doesn't help his worry]

Where did you get hurt?

Huh?

[Injured? Him? Firo doesn't know about no injuries.]

It's just a few bruises from fallin' outta that tree, I'll be fine. How about you? You been doin' okay?

[Not so subtly keeping his hand behind his back]

I'm fine, Firo. [Shaking his head in disapproval.]

Just take care of whatever's hurt, okay?

[...Ouch. He would've expected Seto to be a bit more excited to see him after being gone for a week. It doesn't occur to him that lying to Seto (and doing it poorly, at that) wouldn't make the kid a happy camper.]

...Yeah, okay.

[He doesn't make any move to leave, though. He needs to find out why Seto seems so glum.]

What did you get up to while I was gone?

[Don't get him wrong, he's happy to see--or rather hear Firo but he's more worried than anything. A few bruises wouldn't have him cursing and lying.]

Thank you. [He tries to smile a little now] Not much. I went for a few walks with PF.

[However small, that smile gives Firo some sense of relief. He returns it, even though he knows Seto can't see it.]

Yeah? That's good. How is she?

[Inside, he's still perplexed. Seto would tell him if something had gone wrong while he was away, right? If that's all that happened, why was he in such a bad mood before?]

I am all right.

[PF can hear you even though she's on his bed. Seto pauses then laughs] What she said.

Oh. Hey, PF.

[He chuckles and almost moves his injured hand out of reflex to wave at her. Flinching, he stops himself just in time and waves with the other hand instead. He quickly continues speaking in the hope that they both missed that.]

Has Seto been good?

[He needs to ask somebody other than Seto to be sure. And no, the irony of Firo not fully believing Seto while he's lying to the kid is completely lost on him.]

Yes, he has been fine in your absence.

Don't believe me? [He sounds a little teasing and he's giving Firo a small grin so he's not actually mad or anything]

No, I just...

[He looks a little nervous until he notices Seto's smile. In response, he smiles back and ruffles Seto's hair with his good hand.]

I just wanted to make sure, that's all.

You two been takin' care a' everybody?

[He smiles a little at the hair ruffling then proceeds to smooth his hair back out--even though it's still just as messy. DON'T MAKE THINGS WORSE FOR HIS HAIR.]

Yes.

Everyone's been worried about you ever since you disappeared but PF and I have been taking care of Kazuma and Tao.

[Nothing can get worse for Seto's hair. To prove it, Firo's going to swoop in for one last ruffle.]

They were? Well, I'm back in one piece now, so...

[Mostly.]

Good job lookin' after 'em. This house needs somebody normal to hold down the fort.

[No offense to Kazuma or Tao.]

[Gah don't do that Firo! He tries to pet down his hair again]

You believe that I am...normal? [She actually sounds surprised despite how her artificial voice sounds.]

I think so.

[He chuckles and, now more at ease, steps farther into the room. It makes the hiding place for his hand a bit less effective.]

More normal than Seto, even. You get into less trouble, too.

[Sensing Firo moving closer, he takes a step back so he isn't in the way or anything.]

H-Hey! I don't get into trouble.

Haha.

Oh, yeah? You sound a bit defensive there. I bet PF would agree with me, right?

[This calls for another hair ruffle!]

Well... I believe he has been behaving well.

See? [He knows he hasn't gotten in trouble lately okok]

C'mon, you coulda' backed me up there...

[He gives something between a laugh and a sigh.]

I was jokin'. You're better behaved than Czes, at least.

[Seto hasn't tricked him into anything, as far as Firo can recall.]

Czes? [He blinks] Isn't that your friend from your world?

[voice] So I'm Fermet?
