7th Hat Flip [Voice/Action]
[Voice]
[After having a close friend return home a few weeks ago, Firo's been largely keeping to himself. He was aware of the danger of losing friends in Luceti, but it always seemed abstract and alien until it actually happened.
It's boredom that finally prompts him to address the network. That and the concern that if he doesn't keep using his skills he'll be near useless when he gets back home. Why not kill two birds with one stone?]
Does anybody here wanna play cards? Any kinda game is fine, or even if you just wanna learn. Most of 'em aren't that hard to pick up and I don't mind teachin' anyone.
[His tone suddenly becomes less light and takes a turn for the grouchier.]
But if you're gonna cheat, save it. I'll know.
[He wasn't put in charge of a Family casino for nothing.]
[Action]
[Soon after he makes his message, Firo will be rummaging through the item shop for a few packs of cards, carefully going through each one he finds to make sure they're complete. Then he'll linger a little while by the art supplies to pick up some markers.
...No, he is not going to be using them to mark the cards.]

...No, he is not going to be using them to mark the cards.]
action!
[And he gives them each another face up card.]
Then we'd bet again. Think you're gettin' the hang a' this?
[ooc: Alrighty, thanks!]
action!
action!
It might make more sense once we're done. But really it's mostly just repeatin' the same thing over again. You bet, get your cards, then bet again.
[He slides them each yet another face up card.
See? So now we'd bet again, and then you get another card.
[He gives them both their sixth card, once again face up.]
action!
action!
[Smiling, he gives them each their final card, this time face down.]
Now that we've both got all our cards, here's when we'd make the last bet. For now, just see if you can figure out what hand you got and see who woulda' won.
action!
...Well, it's no flush or anything, most of his cards seem to be a little random with different numbers and suits. There's a king of hearts, but then there's this two of spades over here face-up...
Even though he hasn't said anything, it's pretty obvious that Crow's not sure what to make of his cards exactly.]
action!
You can keep your face down ones up; now that the betting's done you don't need to hide 'em anymore. Might help if you can look at all of 'em at the same time.
[Firo turns over his cards. The highest is a nine of hearts, followed by an eight of spades, a six of hearts, a five of clubs, and a four of diamonds. Then there's a pair of threes, a diamond and a spade. A pretty lackluster hand; if he had any cards up his sleeve he would have slipped them out a while ago.]
action!
He has...a king of hearts, a pair of twos (spades and hearts), seven of clubs, eight of hearts, five of diamonds, and a jack of spades. A bit all over the map, this one. 8\]
action!
[Firo glances at Crow's cards, then looks back at him.]
Do you think you know what hand you got?
[...Did Firo even specify what makes up each hand?]
action!
Isn't there something you get when you have two cards with the same number or something?
action!
Yeah, it's a pair. Not the best as far as hands go, but it ain't like I got much better.
[He slides the pair of threes up so Crow can see them.]
action!
[But they're threes...so does that mean Firo won since our cards are just twos...]
action!
[He shrugs, it's not such a great victory especially considering it's Crow's first time. What's nice is that Crow seems to be learning.]
See, you can't really help what your cards are--well, you can, but that's cheatin'--the real skill is how you place your bets.
So how'd you like tryin' it out?
action!
[Most of any game we've played usually involves a lot of running around places so he's never played card games before until now...]
action!
[Aww, he expected more enthusiasm than that.]
Whaddaya mean? Did ya like it or what?
action!
Do that thing where you were dealing them out, I wanna try playing one more time. [Maybe the next round will actually be more exciting. (Or rather, it's way more exciting when you win, he thinks)]
action!
[He takes the cards eagerly and combines them with the rest to start shuffling. If Crow wants to play again, that's enthusiasm enough.]
You know, to spice things up this time we could add in the betting rounds.
[He adds quickly:]
Not actually, of course. We can just bet... I dunno, spoons or something.
[He's desperate, okay.]
action!
[Then again spoons are shiny but we're sure no one would appreciate the house's supply of spoons potentially going missing because of us.
If some of them haven't gone missing already.]action!
[He shrugs and sets the now shuffled deck on the table.]
You got any better ideas?
action!
action!
[He stops speaking as he watches Crow empty his pockets. Where'd he even get all that stuff?]
...You wanna use all that?
action!
And he's nowhere near done as he pauses from picking through some pieces of shiny tinfoil and random silverware--not all spoons, looks like there's a fork in there too.]
Well I'm seeing what I've got on me that could be used. [Though he does put most of everything back into his pockets except for the screws--they're kinda shiny like the coins that people use for money, so would that work?]
action!
Those look like they could work. How many have you got?
action!
I don't know, ten or fifteen I guess? How many do we need?
action!
[Not that they are using actual money, but if Crow ever does play for real Firo doesn't want him thinking it's okay to wager hundreds and thousands as a beginner.]
