6th Hat Flip [Accidental Video/Action]

[Somewhere in Luceti, Firo's draped over a tree branch, asleep and freshly returned from his mallynapping. He looks a little worse for the wear, but he's out of the woods (figuratively) now, isn't he?

Unfortunately, gravity's not going to give him a break today, and as soon as he shifts in his sleep Firo goes tumbling to the ground. How's that for a wake up call?

It's not far of a fall, but Firo's incredibly ungraceful landing doesn't do him any favors. There's a crunching sound as he hits the ground, twisted around so that he lands on his left hand.]

Ah-! Ow-! Shit!

[Firo stays lying like that for a moment: both in the process of waking up and cursing everything from the malnosso to the tree- whatever he can blame for this situation. Then, with some reluctance, he rolls onto his side and stares at his hand with a mixture of pain and consternation. Unlike what he's become used to over the past few years, it stays stubbornly broken. His eyes widen. This is not how it's supposed to work...]

What? Why isn't it-?

[He tries to flex his fingers and winces; it's then that he catches a glimpse of his journal lying open nearby. Great. Of course it had to show off one of his less dignified moments.]

Damnit... Are you kiddin' me?

[Sighing and gritting his teeth against the pain, he pulls himself into a sitting position. Arms crossed over his chest, he takes a deep breath and tries to recover some aplomb.]

So... Guess I'm back. Screw this place.

[ooc: Firo's back from being mallynapped and is now going to be without his immortality for a while. After a few weeks it'll return to its normal Luceti dampened state.]

Oh, no. They were nice and friendly.

[Maybe she got them mixed up with normal animals?]

Well, some of them were a little tall. And some were very pretty! They were all so interesting.

[No, he doesn't, but he figures it's probably useless to ask for more details.]

And these guys are just all over the place where you live?

[He really hopes not. Though the thought of Grune actively seeking out monsters wherever they might hide is almost as scary.]

Yes, that's right. There are all sorts of different kinds everywhere.

[She's totally putting his mind at rest, isn't she?]

Everywhere..? You're kiddin' me, right? That... That'd be dangerous!

Oh, it's all right. It isn't dangerous at all.

[Provided you can cast high-level spells whenever you feel like it, anyway.]

No offense or anything, but I find that kinda hard to believe. All the monsters I've heard about seem pretty damn dangerous. Like dragons and all that.

[Monsters are just made up (probably) in his world, but he's assuming the monsters in other worlds are just as bad as the fictional ones.]

But dragons are very nice. Luminair is so cute.

[Helios' dragon might be adorable and largely harmless, it's true, but that's definitely not the case for the dragons on her world. If she ever went back while retaining her memories, things could get pretty unfortunate pretty fast.]

[And how is cute if it's a dragon?]

We are talkin' about those big, scaly, fire-breathin' things, right?

Luminair is Helios' pet. He's very tiny.

[She holds her hands apart a bit. Think kitten-sized or thereabouts. ~~I can't find where the picture went.~~]

A pet..?

[He imitates her movements as he tries to visualize Luminair. None of the stories he's read have ever mentioned a dragon that small--probably because it wouldn't make a very scary antagonist.]

Are you sure you're not talkin' about a frog or somethin'?

A frog?

[Do frogs have scales?]

They're these small, slimy... animal things.

[He shrugs.]

I've just never really heard of a dragon that small. Is it a baby or something'?

[But then, she's more of an expert than he is.]

[Grune actually does know what a frog is--she was just confused as to why Firo thought Luminair was one.]

Hmm.... I think so. He's grown a little bit since he came here.

It's growin'?

[Oh. Great.]

Where's somebody even get a baby dragon?

[At least he's only supposed to get to be eagle-sized?]

Oh, it was a present from Ginia.

[But where did she get him from?]

[...Are all of Grune's friends as strange as she is?]

You know, when I think about givin' people presents, a dragon isn't the first thing that comes to mind.

[Short answer: Yes. After all, Firo's one of them.]

It's gotta be pretty hard to take care of, right? 'Specially if it keeps growin'. Besides, whenever dragons show up in stories it never goes well for anybody.

[He knows more about dragon lore than he'd like, due to a couple of his friends.]

[Hey, when you're an immortal gangster, you gotta be careful about tossing that word around.]

[But Luminair is so nice....]

[Isaac and Miria did say that "the fate of a dragon is to be killed by humans. Then again, that's Isaac and Miria.]

[Helios isn't exactly secretive about him, after all.]
