7th Hat Flip [Voice/Action]
[Voice]
[After having a close friend return home a few weeks ago, Firo's been largely keeping to himself. He was aware of the danger of losing friends in Luceti, but it always seemed abstract and alien until it actually happened.
It's boredom that finally prompts him to address the network. That and the concern that if he doesn't keep using his skills he'll be near useless when he gets back home. Why not kill two birds with one stone?]
Does anybody here wanna play cards? Any kinda game is fine, or even if you just wanna learn. Most of 'em aren't that hard to pick up and I don't mind teachin' anyone.
[His tone suddenly becomes less light and takes a turn for the grouchier.]
But if you're gonna cheat, save it. I'll know.
[He wasn't put in charge of a Family casino for nothing.]
[Action]
[Soon after he makes his message, Firo will be rummaging through the item shop for a few packs of cards, carefully going through each one he finds to make sure they're complete. Then he'll linger a little while by the art supplies to pick up some markers.
...No, he is not going to be using them to mark the cards.]

video;
Oh yeah? Then show me how to play it and I'll judge it for myself. [We're getting bored and we gotta have something to do around here...]
video;
video;
[Adjusts the book slightly--guess who was hanging out on the roof.]
video;
[Read: please don't fall and die and break Seto's heart.]
I'll be back in a bit. Sit tight, okay?
video;
[He waves a hand a bit dismissively, but fine, we'll try to patient enough to wait for you to get back here and not fall of roofs. The key word here being "try"...]
video->action?
[He shuts the journal and starts walking. Fortunately the house is right up the road from the store, only about fifteen minutes or so away; but will Crow hold out that long?]
action!
But give it a minute and he'll be sure to pop out somewhere (a nearby tree, because what is normally just greeting somebody when they come back) with a--]
Hey! Took you long enough to get back!
action!
[Firo starts grumbling to himself when he sees the empty roof, convinced Crow must have wandered off. Much to his embarrassment, Crow's sudden appearance startles Firo and he jumps. He regains his composure as he turns to look at Crow.]
Hey, I'm here now, aren't I? You still wanna learn to play?
action!
Yeah, duh--otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to keep sticking around here.
[He would have just moved on farther elsewhere to find something else to do.]
action!
[Not that Firo's ever been much better behaved. He shakes his head.]
Whatever. Let's get started.
[He takes a deck--still in its box--out of his jacket pocket and tosses it to Crow.]
You have seen one a' these before, right?
action!
...Yeah, once or twice. I think the park and hotel had a few of these lying around... [Not looking up from the cards in his hands as he's looking at the numbers...and the face and ace cards, at least now we sort of recognize them for what they are...]
action!
Okay, good. So then you know the four suits--diamonds, spades, clubs, and hearts--right? They're important; any kinda flush has to be cards of all the same suit.
action!
You mean these shapes on the cards, right?
action!
Yeah, those. There's four suits and thirteen cards per suit. You got a hearts and a clubs right there.
action!
[He knew what hearts looked like, obviously, as well as a vague idea of diamonds. And at least he now knows what spades and clubs are to try telling them apart.]
action!
[He turns to head inside, pausing halfway.]
Think you're ready to try playin' now?
action!
Huh--oh, yeah! Why else would I bother asking about it if I didn't want to play?
action!
Just makin' sure. Let's get inside before we start anything.
action!
[Which is still a legitimate concern to have considering this is Crow we're talking about who has gotten bored and ducked out on things before. But nonetheless, he'll go back inside if he has to for the time being...]
action!
[Firo heads inside, pausing to hold the door for Crow. If he follows, then Firo'll take a seat at the kitchen table.]
action!
Which game were we playing again? Poker or the blackjack one?
action!
[He shrugs and takes another deck out of his pocket, shuffling them carefully.]
Doesn't really matter to me. Which one do you wanna do?
action!
...The poker one. [Might as well try to learn the harder of the two first and get it out of the way...?]
action!
There's a few different kinds a' poker, actually. Seven card stud's what we normally do at my place, so we'll do that one. High only.
[Crow probably has no idea what that term means, he realizes after a moment.]
Meanin' the person with the highest hand gets the pot, it doesn't get split like in high-low. Get it?
